Prerequisite: Beginners Spinning Course
This series of spinning classes provide a great opportunity for spinners to learn more about spinning. The time allotted (1 pm to 3:30) will give you time to practice new skills in class. Participants are encouraged to bring any tools they may have. (eg. hand cards, combs, lazy kate, etc.)
Jan. 14: Spinning Woolen – How, When, and Why
Feb. 11: Spinning Worsted – How, When, and Why
March 11: Plying Tools and Techniques – Learn when and why to ply, how to ply including traditional, chain ply and cable ply, plus tools and tips.
April 8: Spinning Mohair – How to prepare and spin mohair, ideas for blending with other fibres.
May 13: Spinning Silk – Learn about different types of silk, how to blend with other fibres, how to spin lustrous silk yarns.
June 10: Spinning Icelandic Fleece – an introduction to working with double coated fleece.
Material Costs: Material costs are extra, payable to the instructor at each session. The cost will vary for each workshop. The instructor will let you know the material cost prior to each workshop.
Cost: $37.50 per class – bundle 3 or more for $35.00 per class.
