LaHave Weaving Studio is offering a variety of textile workshops in a rustic studio overlooking Lunenburg Harbour. Lunenburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a wide range of accommodations and food establishments available for visitors.

Lesley Armstrong, long-time weaver and former regular part-time faculty at NSCAD, renovated a part of an old Lunenburg Foundry building and is offering from 2 to 5-day weaving workshops. Lesley will be teaching Intro/Refresher Weaving, Rug Techniques, Weave a Rag Rug, and a weekend-long Weave A Driftwood Hanging. Lesley will also be conducting a tour called “Textile Discoveries: the South Shore” where participants will travel and be introduced to a new textile subject each of the four days.

In addition, visiting instructors who are well-established artists/teachers in their fields have been invited to teach the following workshops: Embellish!, Unfolding the Mysteries of Pattern, a weekend Learn to Spin workshop, and Introduction to Tapestry.

These courses are offered over the Summer!  Check their website for dates!
